Tree population micro-plots were established in 1988 and continued until 2008.
Fertilizer micro-plots were established in 2011.
Basic idea for the fertilizer micro-plots: Nitrogen is applied at different timings and amounts.
The micro-plots are located at the north end of each plot they are 47.8 ft (14.6 m) wide (east to west) x 50 ft (15 m) deep (north to south).
The micro-plot area are subdivided into six different micro-plots, six different N application timings or N application amounts.
