2024-10-21 Harvest Harvested corn grain in the GLBRC G1 plots, reps: 5, 4, 3, 2, & 1, and bait crop area. Harvested with JD S660 combine. Entire plot weight was determined by unloading corn from the combine to a Brent Weigh Wagon, by Unverferth Co. Number of corn rows harvested from each plot were counted and recorded to determine total area harvested. Each plot had 24 rows of corn harvested has the main plot harvest data. Six row (micro-plots) on each side of each plot were harvested with the Kincaid plot combine and was NOT included in the total plot weight (these six rows are recorded as micro-plot yield data). Moisture and test weights were determined using grain analysis moisture tester. Moisture and test weights were determined using a Dicky-john GAC2100b grain analysis moisture tester.
2024-10-17 Harvest Harvested soybeans in G3 plots, reps: 5, 3, 2, 1, and 4. Harvested with JD S660 Combine. Soybeans from each plot were weighed in the Brent Weigh Wagon. Grain sample was collected from each replication. Each replication was weighed independently. Data recorded from each of the independent grain samples collected: weight, moisture, and test weight.
2025-07-14 Harvest Wheat harvest of LTER main site T2 plots. Wheat straw was wind-rowed so that the straw could be baled at a later time. The wheat was harvest so that about 12 inches of the wheat stalk was remaining standing in the field.
2025-07-15 Harvest Wheat harvest of LTER main site T1 and T2 plots, all replications. In the T1 plots all wheat straw was wind-rowed so that the straw could be baled at a later time. In the T3 plots all the wheat straw was chopped back on to the ground, the wheat straw from the T3 plots was not baled. In the T1 and T3 plots the wheat was harvest so that about 12 inches of the wheat stalk was remaining standing in the field.
2025-07-22 Harvest Wheat harvest of LTER main site T4 plots, all replications. In the T4 plots all the wheat straw was chopped back on to the ground, the wheat straw from the T4 plots was not baled. In the T4 the wheat was harvest so that about 8 inches of the wheat stalk was remaining standing in the field.
2025-10-01 Harvest Harvested soybeans in G2 plots, reps 1, 5, 4, 3, and 2. No micro-plots were harvested from the G2 plots in 2025. Plots had damage from deer browsing. Had enough soybeans to harvest but the deer/wildlife damage definitely effected soybean yields. No fencing was placed around the plots in 2025 to prevent deer from browsing the plots. Did not quantify wildlife yield loss.
