Irrigated corn in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study).
Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System.
Amount of water applied: .88 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges).
Irrigation system delay setting: 24;
Irrigation pressure: 21 psi;
Pressure at the pump: 50 psi.
Time of application was between 2:10 pm - 3:45 pm.
Weather conditions at 2:00 pm. Sunny, 78.5°F, wind 3 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 3.62 mph) wind gust ? mph, from the North West, relative humidity 51.1%. Weather station did not populate data for Maximum Gust.
Weather conditions at 3:40 pm. Partly Cloudy, 82°F, wind 5 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 5.91 mph), wind gust ? mph, from the North, relative humidity 41%.
Meter reading at the start of irrigation event: 7,384,141 "FWD Total" on meter screen.
Meter reading at the end of irrigation event: 7,408,083
Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): A minimum amount of 23,942 gallons of water was applied at time of irrigation.; The flow meter was froze up when checked part way through irrigating. This amount seems to be roughly 7,000-10,000 gallon lower then previous irrigation events.
Average ? gallons per minute (as measure by a in-line water meter).
