Irrigated corn in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 1.07 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges). Irrigation system delay setting: 20; Irrigation pressure: 21 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 9:10 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Weather conditions at 9:00 a.m. Sunny , 70.6°F, wind 1-4 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 0.48 mph) wind gust 6.07 mph, from the East, relative humidity 63.7%. Weather conditions at 11:15 a.m. Sunny, 72.9°F, wind 2-6 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 2.76 mph), wind gust 6.07 mph, from the South, relative humidity 41.9%. Meter reading at the start of irrigation event: 7,063,661 "FWD Total" on meter screen. Meter reading at the end of irrigation event: 7,117,073 Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): A minimum amount of 53,412 gallons of water was applied at time of irrigation.; Average 422 gallons per minute (as measure by a in-line water meter).
