Irrigated corn in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 1.14 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges). Irrigation system delay setting: 19; Irrigation pressure: 21 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 9:50 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. Weather conditions at 9:45 a.m. Smokey/Hazy , 74.8°F, wind 4-6 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 4.31 mph) wind gust 6.02 mph, from the North, relative humidity 75.6%. Weather conditions at 11:50 a.m. Smokey/Hazy, 80.8°F, wind 3-6 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 3.09 mph), wind gust 6.79 mph, from the North East, relative humidity 59.9%. Meter reading at the start of irrigation event: 6,953,179 "FWD Total" on meter screen. Meter reading at the end of irrigation event: 7,009,891 Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): A minimum amount of 56,712 gallons of water was applied at time of irrigation.; Average 422 gallons per minute (as measure by a in-line water meter).
