Irrigated corn in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 1.00 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges). Irrigation system delay setting: 20; Irrigation pressure: 21 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 11:50 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. Weather conditions at 11:40 a.m. Sunny , 83.2°F, wind 3-5 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 3.74 mph) wind gust 9.74 mph, from the North West, relative humidity 49.5%. Weather conditions at 1:45 p.m. Sunny, 85.3°F, wind 5-6 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 5.38 mph), wind gust 8.81 mph, from the West, relative humidity 51.2%. Meter reading at the start of irrigation event: 6,901,034 "FWD Total" on meter screen.
