No-till seeded red clover at 25 lbs/A pure live seed (target) in the LTER Main Site T3 plots all replications (5, 4, 2, 1, 3, and 6 East).
Original target rate was 12lbs/A. Clover seeded at 25lbs/A to account for the 48% pure live seed content of the cover crop.
To prevent weed pressure in the spring, T3 plots were sprayed and it was decided red clover would be seeded following harvest. Plots were sprayed with a pre-plant burn down to control the post harvest weed flush. However the West side of T3R6 was missed in the initial burn down spraying and was sprayed later than the other plots. This half of the plot will be planted at a later date.
T3R6 west half of plot was planted on 8/28/25.
Clover planted 1/4 inch into the ground.
Drill setting #10, cup setting # 2, seed depth set with two open notches approx 1/2" target depth.
