Irrigated winter wheat in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 1.1 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges). Irrigation system delay setting: 19.5; Irrigation pressure: 21 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 12:41 p.m. - 2:44 p.m. Weather conditions at 12:00 p.m. Mostly cloudy, 67.4°F, wind 8 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 7.89 mph), wind gust 14.78 mph, from the Northwest, relative humidity 84.7%. Weather conditions at 2:48 p.m. Partly sunny, 80.0°F, wind 4-6 mph (average wind speed was 4 mph), wind gust 8 mph, from the North, relative humidity 66.0%. - This data taken from Weather Underground Station in Hickory Corners, the LTER weather station was down at the time. Meter reading at the start of irrigation event: 6,681,132.0; Meter reading at the end of irrigation event: 6,740,097.6; Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): A minimum amount of 58,965.6 gallons of water was applied at time of irrigation. Average 424 gallons per minute (as measure by a in-line water meter).
