Irrigated soybeans in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 0.929 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges) Irrigation system delay setting: 23; Irrigation pressure: 21 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 9:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Weather conditions at 9:20 a.m. Mostly Sunny , 60.9 °F, wind 1-2 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 1.81 mph) wind gust 2.43 mph, from the South, relative humidity 81.3%. Weather conditions at 10:55 a.m. Mostly Sunny, 65.8 °F, wind 4-8 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 4.51 mph), wind gust 8.69 mph, from the South, relative humidity 61.9%. Meter reading at the start of irrigation event: 6,130,274; Meter reading at the end of irrigation event: 6,181,218.8; Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): A minimum amount of 50,944.8 gallons of water was applied at time of irrigation.; Average 424 gallons per minute (as measure by a in-line water meter).
