Irrigated soybeans in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 0.8375 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges) Irrigation system delay setting: 25; Irrigation pressure: 21 psi; Pressure at the pump: 48 psi. Time of application was between 10:15 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. Weather conditions at 10:10 a.m. Cloudy , 67.7 °F, wind 3-8 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 3.72 mph) wind gust 8.16 mph, from the East, relative humidity 99.7%. Weather conditions at 11:50 a.m. Cloudy, 71.2 °F, wind 2-7 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 2.67 mph), wind gust 7.08 mph, from the South, relative humidity 99%. Meter reading at the start of irrigation event: 6,083,941; Meter reading at the end of irrigation event: 6,130,274; Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): A minimum amount of 46,333 gallons of water was applied at time of irrigation.; Average 415 gallons per minute (as measure by a in-line water meter).
