Irrigated corn in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 0.879 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges) Irrigation system delay setting: 22; Irrigation pressure: 22 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 9:15 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Weather conditions at 9:10 a.m. Cloudy/Drizzling , 72.1 °F, wind 8-20 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 8.71 mph) wind gust 21.41 mph, from the South, relative humidity 94.6%. Weather conditions at 10:55 a.m. Cloudy, 73.4 °F, wind 8-20 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 8.54 mph), wind gust 19.26 mph, from the South, relative humidity 88%. Meter reading at the start of irrigation event: 5,832,810; Meter reading at the end of irrigation event: 5,882,173.1; Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): A minimum amount of 49,363.1 gallons of water was applied at time of irrigation.; The flow meter worked for this event each time it was checked. The total amount of gallons appears to be close to what it should be for the amount of time it was running. Average 412 gallons per minute (as measure by a in-line water meter).
