Comment:
Irrigated corn in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 0.908 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges) Irrigation system delay setting: 20; Irrigation pressure: 22 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 9:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. Weather conditions at 9:40 a.m. Cloudy , 71.2 °F, wind 5-10 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 5.19 mph) wind gust 9.77 mph, from the Northeast, relative humidity 79.1%. Weather conditions at 11:40 a.m. Cloudy, 76 °F, wind 5-10 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 5.1 mph), wind gust 10.31 mph, from the Northeast, relative humidity 72.5%. Meter reading at the start of irrigation event: 5,779,485.0; Meter reading at the end of irrigation event: 5,832,809.7; Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): A minimum amount of 53,324.7 gallons of water was applied at time of irrigation.; The flow meter froze and stopped counting early on during irrigation event but must have came back on and added back the amount pumped. The total amount of gallons appears to be close to what it should be for the amount of time it was running Average ? gallons per minute (as measure by a in-line water meter).
