Comment:
Irrigated corn in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 1.05 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges) Irrigation system delay setting: 18.5; Irrigation pressure: 22 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 8:45 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. Weather conditions at 8:40 a.m. Sunny, 70.6 °F, wind 4-7 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 4.97 mph) wind gust 6.91 mph, from the Northeast, relative humidity 85.6%. Weather conditions at 10:40 a.m. Mostly Sunny, 75.9 °F, wind 5-7 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 5.35 mph), wind gust 7.08 mph, from the ?, relative humidity 62.8%. Meter reading at the start of irrigation event: 5,590,094; Meter reading at the end of irrigation event: 5,597,868.9; Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): 7,774.9. The flow meter is having issues and stopped reading the flow early on in the irrigation event. The water total should be a substantially higher amount. Average 412 gallons per minute (as measure by a in-line water meter).
