Irrigated corn in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 0.512 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges). Irrigation system delay setting: 38.0; Irrigation pressure: 22 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 9:05 a.m. - 10:05 a.m. Weather conditions at 8:55 a.m. partly cloudy, 67.8 degrees F, wind 3-5 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 5.03 mph) wind gust 4.58 mph, from the East, relative humidity 52.6%. Weather conditions at 10:10 a.m. partly cloudy, 73.5 degrees F, wind 3-5 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 4.49 mph), wind gust 4.22 mph, from the East, relative humidity 45.1%. Meter reading at the start of irrigation event: 5,092,001; Meter reading at the end of irrigation event: 5,124,528.2; Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): 32,527.2 gallons of water was applied at time of irrigation. Average 415 gallons per minute (as measure by a in-line water meter).
