Irrigated winter wheat in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 1.05 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges). Irrigation system delay setting: 19; Irrigation pressure: 22 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 10:45 a.m. - 1:05 p.m. Weather conditions at 10:45 a.m. mostly sunny, 79 degrees F, wind 7-10 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 7 mph) wind gust 9.2 mph, from the South, relative humidity 47%. Weather conditions at 1:00 p.m. mostly sunny, 81.5 degrees F, wind 4-10 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 3.4 mph), wind gust 10.88 mph, from the northeast, relative humidity 35.5%. Meter reading at the start of irrigation event: 4630132.0; Meter reading at the end of irrigation event: 4683867.50; Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): 53,735 gallons of water was applied at time of irrigation.
