Because of the field tour tomorrow and the hot dry weather we decided to irrigate two days in a row.
Irrigated winter wheat in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study).
Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System.
Amount of water applied: 1.025 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges).
Irrigation system delay setting: 19;
Irrigation pressure: 23 psi;
Pressure at the pump: 50 psi.
Time of application was between 11:40 a.m. - 1:50 p.m.
Weather conditions at 11:40 a.m. mostly sunny, 86.0 degrees F, wind 2-18 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 7.33 mph) wind gust 18.54, from the west, relative humidity 49.6%.
Weather conditions at 2:10 a.m. mostly sunny, 91.4 degrees F, wind 2-18 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 8.29 mph), wind gust 17.64 mph, from the southwest, relative humidity 43.4%.
