Comment:
Irrigated winter wheat in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 0.867 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges). Irrigation system delay setting: 24; Irrigation pressure: 23 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Weather conditions at the start: mostly sunny, 89.5 degrees F, wind 6-18 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 7.14 mph) wind gust 17.64, from the southwest, relative humidity 56.9%. Weather conditions at the end: mostly sunny, 89.6 degrees F, wind 8-19 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 10.45 mph), wind gust 18.90 mph, from the south, relative humidity 54.6%. Meter reading at the start of irrigation event: 4347869.0; Meter reading at the end of irrigation event: 4407140.8 Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): 59,271.8 gallons of water was applied at time of irrigation. Average about 430 gallons per minute. Water meter at the start of the 2022 irrigation season: At the start of this irrigation event (the first one of the 2022 growing season) the in-line water meter had 4,347,869.0 gallons on the meter or 4348173.0 gallons on the meter. The in-line water meter has two total gallons used that is why we have a 304 gallons difference for the total gallons used for the life of the meter.
