Irrigated soybeans in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 0.80 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges). Irrigation system delay setting: 22; Irrigation pressure: 23 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 9:55 p.m. - 11:40 p.m. Weather conditions at the start (weather update at 9:30 a.m.): Partly sunny, 61.1 degrees F, wind 3-4 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 3.28 mph) from the northwest, relative humidity 86%. Weather conditions at the end (weather update at 11:40 a.m.): sunny, 65.8 degrees F, wind 6-10 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 8.29 mph) from the northwest, relative humidity 61.2%. Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): 45,634.9 gallons.
