Irrigated soybeans in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 0.625 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges). Irrigation system delay setting: 32; Irrigation pressure: 23 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 12:05 p.m. - 1:25 p.m. Weather conditions at the start (weather update at 11:55 a.m.): mostly sunny, 77.2 degrees F, wind 1-6 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 4.81 mph) from the west, relative humidity 59.8%. Weather conditions at the end (weather update at 1:25 p.m.): mostly sunny, 79.8 degrees F, wind 2-11 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 4.27 mph) from the northwest, relative humidity 55.3%. Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): 36,633.2 gallons.
