Irrigated soybeans in the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Experiment (Irrigated N-rate Study). Equipment used: Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. Amount of water applied: 0.6333 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges). Irrigation system delay setting: 31; Irrigation pressure: 23 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi. Time of application was between 1:40 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Weather conditions at the start: partly sunny, 78.1 degrees F, wind 5-19 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 8.45 mph) from the southwest, relative humidity 61.0%. Weather conditions at the end (weather update at 3:10 p.m.): mostly cloudy, 78.4 degrees F, wind 8-17 mph (3m high 5 minute average wind speed was 8.08 mph) from the southwest, relative humidity 62.7%. Total gallon of water used in this irrigation event (as measure by a in-line water meter): 35,119.1 gallons.
