Irrigated corn in the LTER Irrigated Fertility Gradient Study (N-rate Study). The study was irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. .92 inches of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges); Irrigation system delay setting: 23 %; Irrigation pressure: 21 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi; Time of application was between 9:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Weather conditions at the start: overcast, 75.8 degrees F, wind: 6-7 mph west wind, 91.2 % humidity. Weather conditions at the end: overcast, 78.4 degrees F, 7-8 mph west wind. 85.1 % humidity. 44,687.3 gallons of water was applied at time of irrigation.
