Chisel Plowed the LTER Treatment 1, all reps, (reps: 1,5,4,2,3 and 6). Field conditions allowed chisel plowing because the soil was dry enough to chisel plow. Chisel plowed with JD 7520 tractor and JD 714 chisel plow. Chisel plowed to a depth of 6-7 inches (15.25-17.8 cm). The west side of each plot was chiseled from south to north while the east side of each plot was chiseled north to south. Two additional headland passes were plowed E-W or W-E on the north and south edges of each plot. An additional headland pass was made around the cover crop micro plot on the north side of each rep.
