Jerry Stewart (Native Connections) planted the prairie strips in the T3 and T4 plots today. A nurse crop of annual ryegrass at 5 lbs/acre and spring oats at 20 lbs/acre was added to the seed mix. The nurse crop helps bring up the seeding rate to be more manageable amount allowing us to seed through the back seed box of a Truax No-till Seed Drill.
