Chisel Plowed the LTER Treatment 1, all reps, (reps: 2, 3, 4, 5, 1, and 6). Field conditions allowed chisel plowing because the soil was dry enough to chisel plow. Chisel plowed with JD 7520 tractor and JD 714 chisel plow. Chisel plowed to a depth of 7-8 inches (17.8-20.3 cm). Plots were chisel plowed N-S across the field. Three additional ”headland” passes were plowed E-W on the north and south edges of each plot.
