Comment:
Irrigated the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Study (N-rate Study). Equipment Used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. 0.57 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges); Irrigation system delay setting: 38%; Water pressure at the Linear system: 21-22 psi; Water Pressure at the well/pump: 50 psi; Due to a malfunction with the system we had to stop irrigation during the first run just after half way. Problem was resolved on 8-23-2018 and irrigation run was competed on this day. That is the reason for multiple start end times. Time of application 8-17-2018 was between 1:04 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Weather conditions 1:04 p.m. : cloudy Temperature:75.4 degrees F, Relative Humidity: 86.6 %, Wind: 4-6 mph variable north wind. Soil temp 81.1 degrees F, Soil moisture 17.80 %. No weather conditions were recorded at the end of application on 8-17-2018. Weather conditions 8-23-2018 Start: 11:10 a.m. : Sunny, 73 degrees F, Relative Humidity: 62.6 %, Wind: 4-5 mph West. Soil temp 71.8 degrees F, Soil moisture 15.8 %. Weather conditions end: 12:15 p.m.: sunny, 75 degrees F, 47.3 % humidity, 4-5 mph West winds. Soil temp 79.1 degrees F, soil moisture 15.8%. 8-17-2018, 20,801 gallons of water was applied during this irrigation event, 8-23-2018, 15,271 gallons of water was applied during irrigation event. Total 36,072 gallons used. At 50 psi we are using about 430 GPM gallons of water per minute.
