Comment:
Irrigated the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Study (N-rate Study). Equipment Used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. 0.57 inch of water was applied (as measured by seven rain gauges); Irrigation system delay setting: 38%; Water pressure at the Linear system: 21-22 psi; Water Pressure at the well/pump: 50 psi; Due to a malfunction with the system we had to stop irrigation during the first run just after half way. Problem was resolved and irrigation resumed later in the day. That is the reason for multiple start end times. Time of application was between 8:55 a.m. and 10:00 a.m and 4:20 p.m. and 4:55 p.m. Weather conditions 8:55 a.m. : partly cloudy Temperature: 69.2 degrees F, Relative Humidity: 98.3 %, Wind: 2-4 mph South West. Soil temp 70.1 degrees F, Soil moisture 19.60 %. Weather conditions 10:46 a.m.: mostly sunny, 75.6 degrees F, 72.6 % humidity, 2-4 mph South West winds. Weather conditions 4:20 p.m. : Sunny, 82.7 degrees F, Relative Humidity: 58.8 %, Wind: 6-8 mph North West. Soil temp 93.4 degrees F, Soil moisture 19.30 %. Weather conditions 4:55 a.m.: sunny, 82.7 degrees F, 59.6 % humidity, 6-8 mph North West winds. 42,678 gallons of water was applied during this irrigation event; At 50 psi we are using about 430 GPM gallons of water per minute.
