Comment:
Irrigated the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Study (N-rate Study). Equipment Used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. 0.58 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges); Irrigation system delay setting: 34%; Water pressure at the Linear system: 21-22 psi; Water Pressure at the well/pump: 50 psi; Time of application was between 9:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.; Weather conditions at the start: Sunny, Temperature: 75 degrees F, Relative Humidity: 70 %, Wind: 5-8 mph (average wind speed 6.7 mph) Wind Direction (from): SouthWest. Soil Temp: 76.4 degrees F, Soil Moisture: 12.3 %. Dew Point: 64 degrees F. Weather conditions at the end: Sunny, Temperature: 78 degrees F, Relative Humidity: 60%, Wind: 6-10 mph (average wind speed 8.5 mph) Wind Direction (from): SouthWest, Soil Temp: 84.2 degrees F, Soil Moisture: 12.3 %. Dew Point: 63 degrees F. ? (flow meter was showing only 5,947 gls used so I know something was wrong with the flow meter today.) gallons of water was applied during this irrigation event; At 50 psi we are using about 443 GPM gallons of water per minute.
