Irrigated the LTER Irrigated Resource Gradient Study (N-rate Study). Equipment Used: Irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System. 0.82 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges); Irrigation system delay setting: 24.5%; Irrigation pressure: 21 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi; Time of application was between 10:00 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.; Weather conditions at the start: (10:15 a.m.) sunny, 68 degrees F, 51% relative humidity, wind: 4-8 mph (ave. 5 mph) out of the southwest. Weather conditions at the end: (12:30 p.m.) sunny, 73 degrees F, 45% relative humidity, wind: 4-8 mph (ave. 5 mph) west. 62,890 gallons of water was applied during this irrigation event. (First time irrigating for the year it takes more water to fill all the buried pipe on the farm).
