Comment:
Irrigated the LTER Irrigated Fertility Gradient Study (N-rate Study). The study was irrigated with the Valley 8000 Linear Irrigation System, 0.6 inch of water was applied (as measured by six rain gauges); Irrigation system delay setting: 33%; Irrigation pressure: 22 psi; Pressure at the pump: 50 psi; Time of application was between 8:45 a.m - 10:15 a.m.; Weather conditions at the start: mostly sunny, 69 degrees F, 95% relative humidity, wind: calm, out of the southeast. Weather conditions at the end: mostly sunny, 78 degrees F, 95% relative humidity, winds: calm to 7 mph, average of 3 mph out the south-southeast. Total gallons of water used for this irrigation event: 36,390 gallons. The difference in total amount of water gallons used in one specific irrigation event vs a separate specific irrigation event (with the same amount applied to the plot area) is do to the amount of time water was running before sending the irrigation system through the plots.
