Chisel plowed around the LTER weather station. Chisel plowed to plant a permanent grass area around the weather station. Before this date we would plant a crop next to the weather station. The data collected at the weather station was based (influenced) on the crop that was planted in the lysimeter field which was normally the same crop planted around the weather station. Because we will be planting grass around the weather station we will have the same crop (turf grass) influencing the data at the weather station.
