Planted winter wheat into lysimeter field. Wheat was soft red winter wheat, Pioneer 25R39, untreated seed. A total of 7.7 acres were planted using 1179 lbs of seed. Pioneer 25R39 (untreated seed) has 12,000 seeds/lbs. Seeding rate worked out to be 1,837,400 seeds/A. Population rate on planter was set at 41 and wheat was planted at a depth of 1/4” to 3/4”. Planted by JD 1590 no-till drill pulled by JD 7420a tractor. Average planting speed was 4 mph.
