Sprayed the GLBRC bait crop area, corn planting only which was the 30' closest to the GLBRC plots on the south, east and north side, for pre-emergence weed control using Lexar (S-metolachlor (+ safener) + atrazine + mesotrione) [EPA Reg. No. 100-1201] applied at 3 qts/acre (7.01 L/Ha) and Ignite (Glufosinate-ammonium 24.5%: CAS # 77182-82-2) [EPA Reg. 264-829] at 29 ounces/A (0.35 L/HA). Weather conditions: Sunny with air temperature of 68 degrees F (20 degrees C). Relative Humidity was 96%. Wind was from calm and from the northwest at 0 mph (10 minute average). Time of application was 1:30 -3:00 p.m. Equipment Used: JD 5220 tractor traveling 3.9 mph (gear B3, 1600 rpm) with a pull type Top Air Sprayer equipped with a hydraulic centrifugal sprayer pump and a Raven 440 automatic carrier control unit. Turbo TeeJet 11003 nozzles were used, spaced 15 inches apart with a total boom length of 30 feet. 20 psi were used. Water applied at 20 gals/A, (187 L/ha), was used as the carrier.
