Comment:
Planted Canola in GLBRC Main Site Treatment G2 all replications (reps R3, R2, R1, R4, and R5). Canola was seeded using the JD750 no-till drill pulled by the JD6420 tractor. A total of 22.85 pounds was used in the 1.75 acres planted giving a seeding rate of 13.1 pounds per acre. Calibration of the JD750 drill at rates below this becomes problematic due to the lack of fine adjustment at the bottom end of the calibration mechanism. The 13.1 pounds/A corresponds to setting #3 on the seeding mechamism, seeds were planted approximately at 1/2”, depth rate #1 on the drill. Canola was replanted becuase fall-seeded winter canola was not observed to be emerging uniformly and stand was very sparse. Weather conditions were 57F, sunny.
