Sprayed LTER main site treatment T5 poplars replications 3, 4 and 5 only with ”Liquid Fence® Deer & Rabbit Repellent” (The Liquid Fence Company, Brodheadsville, PA) for deer repellency effect. Liquid Fence was applied at a rate of 8 oz concentrate per gallon of H2O carrier. Spray was applied with backpack sprayers; each backpack sprayer had a capacity of 4 gallons. Each tree was individually sprayed with spray focused on growing tip and young leaves from approximately 1' to 5' height. A total of 128 ozs of concentrate in a total of 16 gallons of H2O carrier was used per each 2.47 acre (1 ha.) plot.
