Sprayed GLBRC Alleyways for weed burndown prior to plant grass seed. The six easternmost and corresponding north-south alleyways were sprayed with Roundup Power Max applied 32 oz/A and ammonium sulfate (AMS) at 17#/100 gallon H2O carrier. A total of 15 quarts of Roundup and 51 pounds of AMS were applied. Time of application was between 12:30 and 2:00 p.m. Weather conditions were cloudy and overcast, temperature was 68F, 87% relative humidity, winds variable but mostly SSE at 0-1 mph. Equipment used: JD 5220 tractor traveling 4.8 mph (gear C1, 1550 rpm) with a pull type Top Air Sprayer equipped with a a hydraulic centrifugal sprayer pump and a Raven 440 automatic carrier control unit. Turbo TeeJet 11003 nozzles were used, spaced 15 inches apart with a total boom length of 30 feet. 20-30 psi was used. Water applied at 20 gals/A (187 L/Ha) was used as the carrier.
