2025-03-14	Fertilizer Application	Fertilized LTER Main Site Winter Wheat plots T1, T2, T3, and T8nt (all reps) with mix of Urea (46-0-0) and Ammonium Sulfate (21-0-0-24) granular fertilizer. This was mixed 100 lbs each and applied at 200 lbs/A, providing 67 lbs N/ A and 24 lbs Sulfur/A, Density of this fertilizer mix was 55 lbs/cu ft. T2 plots were fertilized on Wednesday 3/12/25 (reps 5, 3, 2, 4, 1, and 6). T1 plots were fertilized on Thursday 3/13/25 (reps 1, 5, 6, 4, 3, and 2). T8nt plots were fertilized on Thursday 3/13/25. T3 (reps 5, 4, 2, and 1) were fertilized Thursday 3/13/25 and T3 (reps 3 and 6) on Friday 3/14/25, T3 prairie strips were not fertilized. Application was done with JD 7420b and Gandy Orbit Air w/ 30' boom, at a speed of 4 mph. JD rate controller set to 200 lbs/A and Gandy fan pressure approx. 15 oz/in2.
2025-03-12	Fertilizer Application	Fertilized LTER Resource Gradient Experiment Winter Wheat with 95 lbs per acre of Ammonium Sulfate 21-0-0-24. This provided 20 lbs per acre of nitrogen and 23 lbs of sulfur per acre. F1 zero nitrogen plots were not fertilized but all other plots received the same rate. Weather at 10:30 a.m was: Temperature: 35.9°F Wind Speed: 11.93 mph Wind Direction: East Relative Humidity: 35.9% Soil Temperature: 32.4°F.
