2008-06-18 Planting Jerry Stewart, from Native Connections, Three Rivers, MI, www.nativeconnection.net, planted G7 and G10, all reps, on June 18, 2008, and planted G5 plots, all reps, on June 19, 2008. Species list: http://data.sustainability.glbrc.org/protocols/144 Row spacing: solid seeded. Tillage: conventional. Jerry planted a rep of each treatment and than he would vacuum the seed out of the drill between each rep and weigh the seed to see how much seed/Acre was planted. The numbers below is what Jerry provided after he completed planting. G5: R1 7.29 lbs/A, R2 6.82 lbs/A, R3 6.14 lbs/A, R4 7.29 lbs/A, and R5 6.36 lbs/A. G7: R1 6.93 lbs/A, R2 6.64 lbs/A, R3 6.64 lbs/A, R4 9.07 lbs/A, and R5 10.26 lbs/A. G10: R1 6.43 lbs/A, R2 7.05 lbs/A, R3 9.42 lbs/A, R4 6.43 lbs/A, R5 8.31 lbs/A. Because of a heavy/hard rain event within two weeks of planting the G5, G7, and G10 plots in June 2008 a lot of the seed ended up in the alleyway or adjacent plots. After evaluating the plant stands within the plots in June of 2009 we determined that the desired plant stands were not at the desired levels so the decision was made to replant G5, G7, and G10 plots. KBS staff, MSU campus staff, and Jerry Stewart all provided input into the decision to replant the G5, G7, and G10 plots.
