Planting

Planted Canola in the GLBRC Main Site treatment G4, all replications (reps 3, 5, 4, 2 & 1). Planted with the JD7420a tractor and the JD750 10' no-till drill. Actual seeding rate was 9.9 lbs/A (18.8 lbs in 1.8A total planted) and was planted at a depth of 1/2”-3/4”. Settings on the drill were #2 on the seeding rate and #2 on the depth. All plots seeded in 9 passes of the drill giving 90' width of planted area; planting started in the southwest corner of each plot. The variety of seed used was DeKalb Genuity Roundup Ready Canola DKL72-55. This variety is listed at 80,070 seeds/lbs which indicates we seeded at 792,693 plants per acre.
