Planting

Planted Canola in the GLBRC Main Site treatment G4, all replications (reps 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1). Planted with the JD6420 tractor and the JD750 10' no-till drill. Seeding rate was 8.23 #/A (14# in 1.7A total planted) and was planted at a depth of 3/8” (setting #2 on the drill). All plots seeded in 9 passes of the drill giving 90' width of planted area; planting started in the southwest corner of each plot. The variety of seed used was Wichita (Michigan Certified Seed) obtained from Dr. R. Freed in 2010.
