550 bushel Grain Cart equipped with Weigh-Tronix 640M Scale system with three load cells; 23.1-26 tires with R3-Diamond tread; 21 spline 1000 RPM PTO shaft; Roll Tarp cover; Hydraulic Adjustable Spout; Two sampling doors, at different heights, to collect grain samples from the grain cart without the need to enter the grain cart; Green in color. Empty gross weight of grain cart on 10/2/26 is 5940 lbs.

Grain cart will be used to weigh grain harvested from the LTER, GLBRC, and other research plots located at KBS. Grain cart allows us to record the amount of grain harvested from each individual research plot. Grain cart will increase harvest efficiency by allowing one entire plot to be harvested at one time compared to unloading two or three times in to a smaller weigh wagon. 2026-09-29 Harvest Harvested soybeans in G3 plots, reps: 3, 5, 4, 2, and 1. Harvested with JD S660 Combine. Soybeans from each plot were weighed in the EZ trail Weigh Wagon. Grain sample was collected from each replication. Each replication was weighed independently. Data recorded from each of the independent grain samples collected: weight, moisture, and test weight.
2026-10-19 Harvest Harvested an additional 15 foot headlands off T1 and T2 plots. This is an East to West pass on the North and South edges of the plots. This was a total of 30 foot headlands on each end. This extra pass was to take out anywhere were the planter fertilizer was delayed coming on at planting time. Headlands were weighed all together.
2026-10-20 Harvest Harvested corn in LTER T1 main plots reps 1, 5, 4, 2, 3, and 6. All plots were weighed and sampled for moisture separately by replication. This was the first harvest using the E-Z Trail 550 bushel grain cart. Because we were not confident with the calibration of the E-Z Trail grain cart we decided to weight the plots weights with the Brent weigh wagon. Flow of grain at harvest: from the combine to the weigh wagon, weigh wagon to the grain cart, grain cart to grain truck, no augers used/needed. Equipment used: Harvested with the JD S660 combine with 706C Corn Head (6 row corn head).
