Manure was not incorporated, so the expectation is that only 25% of the nitrogen would be available to the crop primarily due to ammonia volatilization losses.

This was the second application to the same plots, with the first application occurring in December and the second application (this one) in May after burndown of the cover crops, but prior to corn planting. Target rate for this application was 5 tons per acre, for a total of 10 tons per acre across the two operations.
2025-04-18 Fertilizer Application Composted manure was applied to reps 1-5 of corn plots with at target rate of 12000 lbs. per acre. Josh and Chuck tarped microplots t1, t2, t5 and removed the compost for no/reduce treatments.
