2015-11-04 Harvest Harvested Corn Stover in the GLBRC, treatments: G1, G2, and G4 all replications. Stover from G4 reps 1 and 2 were on November 5, 2015. Harvested - Eastern 75 feet (30 rows) of each plot, except for G2R1 and G3R1 the western 75 feet (30 rows) was harvested. The remaining 15' (6 rows) area unharvested is the stover non-removal microplot, located on the western 15' of each plot except for G2R1 and G3R1 where it is located on the eastern 15' of the plot. Stover weights were determined weighing round bales on platform scales. Grab samples from each rep was placed in paper bags weighed for wet weight and placed in plant dryer and reweighed to determine percent moisture for each replication. Estimated harvest time was from 10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (this estimate is just harvest time it does not include equipment set up and equipment clean up time).

2015-11-02 Harvest Harvested Corn Stover in the GLBRC fields M1 and L1. Started harvesting M1 on November 2, 2015 and finished mowing stover on November 3, 2015. Started harvesting L1 on November 3, 205 and finished mowing stover on November 4, 2015. Stover weights were determined by using load cell scales on the Gnuse forage wagon pulled behind the JD 7420b and the New Holland 38 Flail Chopper. Grab samples from each rep was placed in paper bags weighed for wet weight and placed in plant dryer and reweighed to determine percent moisture for each replication. Estimated harvest time was from 10:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (this estimate is just harvest time it does not include equipment set up and equipment clean up time).

2020-12-10 Harvest Mowed and baled corn stover at Lux Arbor corn field (L1). See attachment for yield. Staff from the KBS Dairy Center drove the red semi up to/from Lux so that bales could be transported on that truck and trailer.

2021-03-22 Harvest Mowed and baled corn stover at Marshall Farm corn field (M1). See attachment for yield. Stover was to wet in the fall of 2020 to mow and bale so we waited until spring of 2021 to mow and bale the corn stover from Marshall Farm. 60 bales were removed from the field.

2022-05-10 Harvest Mowed and baled corn stover at Marshall Farm corn field (M1). Bales were transported to KBS Dairy, the diary will use the bales for bedding in the cattle barns. On November 24, 2021 baled the headlands and west side, however the baler broke so we could not finish the field. About 10 windrows (12 corn rows) were made November 24, but were not baled. These windrows stayed like this over the winter and were raked twice with rotary rake on 5/10/2022 to dry out underside of windrows. See attached for yields.
